Is the ‘House of Yahweh’ the True Church?

There is a small sect in Abilene, Texas, called the “House

of Yahweh,” run by a certain Yisrael Hawkins. This sect

has pulled the wool over the eyes of hundreds, even thousands,

of sincere, innocent people with their deceptive translations,

pseudo-scholarship, and appearance of “truth.” But a closer

look shows them to be seriously deceived, deluded, and even

spiritually deranged! Beware of this sadistic cult and fount

of doctrines of demons!

Recently I received a letter asking, “What are your views on Yisrael Hawkins and his latest nuclear war prophecy on September 12th?”

Of course, nuclear war did NOT break out on the earth on September 12! Yisrael Hawkins, therefore, is a FALSE PROPHET! And his church, called “The House of Yahweh,” is a Satanic CULT!

Yisrael Hawkins, who claims to be a prophet of God, and His end-time messenger, and one of the “two witnesses,” declared that on September 12 nuclear war would break out on the earth – and it didn’t happen. The Scriptures tell us, “When a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing that the LORD has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him” (Deut.18:22, NKJV). The Septuagint has this verse: “Whatsoever words that prophet shall speak in the name of the Lord, and they shall not come to pass, this is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; that prophet has spoken wickedly: ye shall not spare him.”

Yeshua, Jesus the Christ, said very plainly, “You shall know them by their fruits” (Matt.7:20).

I have received a number of letters from people asking about the “House of Yahweh.” I know people who have been deceived by that cult, and others who have come out of that terrible deception and totalitarian cult.

I have investigated that cult – they really are a cult – and their Bible is not a translation, it is a spurious, uninspired REVISION of Scripture, a plain twisting of Scripture, to suit their own dogmas and ideas.

The House of Yahweh, as it calls itself, is a major teacher of the “holy names” doctrine – that no one can be saved unless they spout the correct “name” of God and Christ – as they interpret it. For the answer to that serious challenge, read my book “What’s All This About Sacred Names?”

The House of Yahwe also claims the two witnesses are not going to be two prophets of God, who prophesy in the streets of Jerusalem. Yet the book of Revelatiion clearly says that these are two men who will prophecy for 1,260 days, wearing sackcloth, bringing curses upon the earth (Rev.11:3-6). At the end of their ministry, they will be killed by the Beast/Antichrist power, and heir bodies will “lie in the street of the great city that is prophetically called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified” (Rev.11:7-8). This is yet future! The world will gloat over their death, refusing to allow them to be buried. But at the end of three days, they will come to life again (Rev.11:9-22), and be resurrected (.12).

Yisrael Hawkins claims he and his brother (NOW DEAD) are the “two witnesses.” He completely twists and mistranslates (actually re-writes) Revelation chapter 11 to arrive at this scandalous conclusion. Therefore he falls into the curse of the apostle John who wrote: “I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book; if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away that person’s share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book” (Rev.22:18-19).

Hawkiind teaches that the devil is a woman – female! The Bible says no such thing. Christ clearly spoke of the devil as a male, referring to him as “he” (John 8:44). Lucifer was created as a cherub, an archangel, and can manifest himself as male or female, in appearance, but he himself has no ability to reproduce or have children.

The House of Yahwe also practice polygamy, contrary to the teaching of Christ and the example of the apostles (see I Cor.9:5). God created one wife for Adam, not several. Christ spoke of a man marrying one wife, not several (Matt.5:31-32).

The House of Yahweh men wear an earring in their ear as a sign of slavery to God. Where is that practice mentioned in the Scriptures? Nowhere! It is idolatry and false teaching – the way of spiritual BONDAGE! The men in that sect also as a custom take the last name of their leader – “Hawkins.”

The House of Yahweh also celebrates a ‘Lord’s supper” the night before the Passover, and completely misunderstand the real meaning and significance of Jesus’ last supper with His disciples. The House of Yahweh also denies the pre-existence of Christ, and says He never existed before He was begotten in the womb of Mary. This outrageous lie contradicts the entire message of the New Testament and the divinity of Christ. John wrote, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God . . . And the Word became flesh and lived among us . . .” (John 1:1-14). Yeshua Himself said, “Before Abraham was, I AM” (John 8:58) – the very Name of God (Exodus 3:14-15).

The apostle Thomas, when he saw the risen Christ for himself, exclaimed to Him, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28). Paul plainly taught the pre-existence and divinity of the Christ (Col.1:15-19; Heb.1:1-6). Truly the world is confused and all mixed up, and many religions and cults have sprung up, like mushrooms, proclaiming their own nefarious messages of fraud and deceit. As Christ Himself prophesied (Matt.24:4-5, 24). And as the apostles Paul, Peter, and Jude all foretold (II Tim.4; II Pet.3; Jude). In fact Paul warned, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some will renounce the faith by paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of DEMONS, through the hypocrisy of LIARS whose consciences are seared with a hot iron” (I Tim.4:1-2, NRSV).

Beware of these monstrous cults which seek to enslave you and bring you into financial bondage and total subservience to their government and authority!

The apostle Paul warns us all, “PROVE ALL things; hold fast that which is good” (I Thess.5:21). He also warned, ““But evil men and seducers shall become worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived” (II Tim.3:13). “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine but, after their own lusts, shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables” (II Tim.4:3-4).

Remember his words to Timothy: “TAKE HEED unto thyself and unto the doctrine” (I Tim.4:16).

Jeremiah also warned: “Take heed every one of his neighbor, and trust not in any brother; for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbor will walk with slanders” (Jer.9:4).

Yeshua the Messiah declared, “TAKE HEED THAT YOU BE NOT DECEIVED” (Luke 21:8).

To those who have been taken in and deceived by this crafty, subtle, cunning cult, I urge you – Take heed, wake up, repent, search the REAL Scriptures, and free yourself from the grip of this devilish, demoniacal CULT which masquerades as the work of God (II Cor.11:13-15).
